Boat rides are a must in Puzhehei, and water fights often break out among tourists. Elderly people and young children are advised to stay away from groups of boats.
If you plan to join in the fun, get fully prepared in advance. Put on a life jacket right after boarding. Store your water-sensitive belongings such as mobile phones and cameras at the luggage counter, or seal them tightly in plastic bags. Ladies are recommended to apply sunscreen beforehand. You can also bring water guns, basins and raincoats for the water fight. It is wise to pack a change of dry clothes sealed in a plastic bag for after you get soaked. An umbrella can serve as a shield during the water fight.
Additional Tips
Many tourists miss Immortal Cave Village, a mysterious hamlet inhabited by the Yi and Sani ethnic groups, if they skip the winding mountain road. Water fights and swimming are the most popular activities here, so remember to bring your swimsuit.
There is no general admission ticket for the scenic area. You can explore the land attractions free of charge if you do not take boats or enter caves.
The combined boat ticket costs ¥200, including a ¥30 scenic area access fee and a ¥170 boat fare. You may enjoy a discounted price by booking through travel agencies.
