Sightseeing by boat brings endless pleasure, while rowing and fishing soothe your mind and refresh your spirit. Wooden boats and small vessels are available for visitors on Immortal Lake, Lantern Lake, Lotus Leaf Lake, Axi Lake, Green Pine Lake, Pine Forest Lake and Bailong Lake.

A great variety of stalactites can be seen inside the underground karst caves.

Liulang Cave features Yunnan's largest underground river system, stretching 120 kilometers in total with an annual water runoff of 747 million cubic meters. Boasting vast caverns, deep subterranean rivers and a rich array of vividly shaped stalactites, it presents top-grade landscapes and serves as a paradise for adventurers.

Houpa Rock Gorge is 9 kilometers long with an altitude of 880 meters. The charming scenery along the route makes the tour thoroughly enjoyable.

The face-painting culture is an ancient folk tradition of the Yi people in Qiubei and a cultural calling card of Puzhehei Scenic Area. Nurtured by this picturesque land, branches of the Yi ethnic group including the Hei Yi, Bo people, Sani and Pula have developed the distinctive face-painting culture over generations of work and life.

Smearing soot on each other’s faces is a unique custom for the local Yi people to ward off evil spirits, exchange blessings and express affection between young men and women. It is also their most joyous traditional festival.

The one-month Face-Painting Festival offers visitors a wonderful journey through stunning lakes, mountains, marvelous caves and lotus scenery. Local ethnic groups put on a grand opening ceremony performance full of ethnic charm. You can also experience authentic string dances, costume shows, folk song duets, sacrificial rituals, bonfire parties and animal fights.

Highlights such as the lively face-painting carnival, exciting water fights and boat races are open to all guests, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in rich ethnic customs.

The scenic area also provides self-guided tours, including leisure vacation trips, carnival tours, ethnic culture exploration tours, agro-ecological sightseeing tours and moonlight boat trips, enabling visitors to fully experience the original and natural charm of Puzhehei
