The Village on the Stone Plateau

Shipan Natural Village belongs to Makou Community, Makou Town, including No.1 and No.2 Villager Groups. It has 118 households with a total population of 428 residents, forming a lovely riverside hamlet.

Facing the tranquil lake nestled between steep gorges and backed by sheer cliffs, the village got its name because all houses are built on smooth, flat stone slabs. The buildings rise tier upon tier in a well-spaced layout.

Standing here, you feel the river breeze brushing your cheeks, watch white clouds drifting overhead, and see river water flowing beneath your feet, with the whole gorge lake unfolding before your eyes. Lush green woods contrast beautifully with green precipices, flying springs and waterfalls. Steep valleys are shaded by banyan trees, filled with birdsong and blooming mountain flowers. You can fully immerse yourself in the wild freshness of nature and gradually deepen your understanding of life.
