What local specialties are there in Hanzhong?

Chenggu Citrus

Chenggu County of Hanzhong has long been famous for its "tribute citrus" since ancient times and enjoys the laudatory title of "Hometown of Citrus". It is the only premium growing region for sweet-and-sour citrus in the world.
Certified national green food varieties include Zhangqian Honey Orange, Shengxian Honey Orange and Hanjiang Honey Orange.
Chenggu citrus features a distinctive sweet taste with a hint of sourness and a crisp refreshing flavour, and it ripens early.
Autumn is the ripening season, when the fruit is at its freshest. Visitors can also pick oranges directly in the local orchards at affordable prices.

Wuzi Xianhao Tea

Wuzi Xianhao is produced around Wuzi Mountain in Xixiang County, Hanzhong.
Tea plantations here sit at altitudes between 600 and 1,200 metres with excellent natural conditions, yielding top-quality tea leaves.
The finished tea leaves resemble orchid blossoms with tender uniform buds. They are bright emerald green covered with fine white pekoe. The tea has a lasting fragrance, clear liquor, mellow taste and pleasant sweet aftertaste.

Dingjun Mingmei Tea

Dingjun Mingmei Tea comes from Dingjun Mountain in Mian County, southern Shaanxi’s Hanzhong area.
The tea leaves are flat and eyebrow-shaped, green with fine pekoe. It has a fresh mellow flavour, strong lasting aroma and clear green tea liquor.
Dingjun Mountain in Mian County is a renowned ancient battlefield as well as a traditional tea-growing area of Bashu.
Dingjun Mingmei has won numerous awards in domestic and international high-quality tea competitions. It has been selected as state banquet tea by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee since 1996.

Xixiang Beef Jerky

Xixiang Beef Jerky is a premium traditional halal delicacy from Xixiang County, Hanzhong, with a history of hundreds of years.
More than 140 years ago, it was first homemade by imams of the local Hui mosques. After repeated improvements in processing, it has become a celebrated local product.

Preserved Flower Egg (Songhua Pidan)

"Pidan" refers to preserved egg.
Xixiang Songhua Preserved Egg gets its name from the pine-branch-like frost patterns on the egg white, with a history of more than a hundred years.
