Recommended Two-Day Tour Itineraries for Yan’an

Yan’an is home to numerous scenic spots, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this profound red-themed journey.

Route: Zaoyuan Revolutionary Site → Yan’an University → Yangjialing Revolutionary Site → Yan’an Revolutionary Memorial Hall → Wangjiaping Revolutionary Site → Fenghuangshan Revolutionary Site → Baota Mountain → Yan’an Culture and Art Center (Enjoy Xintianyou Folk Ballads) All attractions on this route are arranged along a continuous travel line. You can select 4 to 5 spots to visit as you like. A sample combination: Yan’an University + Yangjialing Revolutionary Site + Yan’an Revolutionary Memorial Hall + Baota Mountain + Xintianyou folk song show.

Depart from downtown Yan’an early in the morning and arrive at Nanniwan. Sightsee here until noon. After lunch, drive to the Yellow River Hukou Waterfall. Spend about one hour touring the waterfall before heading back.

Luochuan Loess National Geopark and the Yellow Emperor’s Mausoleum are close to each other. However, they are far from downtown Yan’an and relatively near Xi’an. If you start your trip from Xi’an, you may visit the Yellow Emperor’s Mausoleum first, then proceed to Luochuan Loess National Geopark.
