Its iconic Dama Camp Grassland lies in the basin between Yanzhi Mountain and the Qilian Mountains. Every July and August, the snow-capped Qilian Mountains bordering the grassland remain blanketed in silvery white, while the meadow unfolds as an immense expanse of emerald green dotted with horses, cattle and sheep. Gentle breezes sweep across the land, bringing visitors a pure, dreamlike sense of returning to nature.
The world-famous Shandan Military Horse Ranch, the largest ranch in the Far East with flat terrain and abundant water and grass, is also situated here.
