Guidelines for Camel Riding
Camels will usually kneel down on the ground for riders to mount. Once you climb aboard, hold the handrail tightly. Do not rush to take photos right away, which may hurt the camels or cause you to fall and get injured.
(1) Do not open an umbrella while riding a camel. Although the desert can get extremely hot, protect yourself from sunlight with hats, scarves and sunglasses instead. Umbrellas cast shadows that frighten camels, making them agitated and dangerous.
(2) Camel rides inevitably involve bumpy movements. Keep your personal belongings well stored. Avoid red backpacks, for camels are highly sensitive to the color red.
(3) If you wish to get close to the camels, gently pet them under the camel handler’s guidance. Never touch their eyes or hindquarters, as this will startle them and put you at risk
