Fuxian Lake Travel Tips & Guide
It is 3 kilometers from Chengjiang County seat to the northern bank of Fuxian Lake. Take Bus No.2 (County Seat — Dongfeng Resort) at the road opposite Mingzhu Holiday Hotel for a fare of 1 yuan. The ride takes you straight to the lakeside.
Luchong Scenic Area lies 19 kilometers away from the county seat. Bus No.8 (County Seat — Luchong) departs from the county bus station with a ticket price of 3 yuan. There are frequent coaches running between Chengjiang, Yuxi, Jiangchuan and Tonghai, making it convenient to get on and off along the routes.
Routes to Fuxian Lake

Kunming → Chengjiang → Fuxian Lake
Fare: around 20 yuan; travel time: about 2 hours.

Kunming → Jiangchuan → Fuxian Lake
Fare: around 30 yuan; travel time: no less than 3 hours.

Kunming → Yuxi → Jiangchuan → Fuxian Lake
Fare: roughly 40 yuan; travel time: at least 2 hours.
The second and third routes are similar overall. The third one runs entirely on expressways and is safer. Drivers with limited experience are advised to avoid the second route.
If you have ample time, you may cycle around the two lakes for a self-guided tour. Please watch out for lake water level changes when staying by Fuxian Lake. Given its vast surface area, the water level varies greatly during tides, and the nearshore water turns turbid then, so stay alert.
Travelers taking the second or third route can make a detour to Qianwei Town in Jiangchuan and try its signature small-bowl cold rice noodles. This unique local delicacy can hardly be found elsewhere in Yunnan.
