Local Specialties of Yuanyang
Red Terraced Rice
The Hani Terraced Fields sit over 1,800 meters above sea level right on the Tropic of Cancer, where intense cosmic neutron radiation takes effect. The paddies are irrigated by spring water abundant in minerals, and the rice is rich in cancer-fighting red pigments.
Cloud and Mist Tea
The tea leaves feature tight, heavy, solid strips with a glossy green and silvery grey appearance. Its brewed liquor is clear, green and bright, delivering a refreshing taste with a long-lasting aroma.
It contains beneficial nutrients including protein, vitamins, amino acids, tea polyphenols and caffeine. As an all-natural green food, it boasts unique health benefits: calming the mind to refresh energy, clearing internal heat to promote fluid production, aiding digestion and eliminating phlegm, inhibiting bacteria and lowering blood lipids.
Lusha Pears
Yuanyang Lusha Pears have thick, juicy flesh with a refreshing sweet taste. They are large with thin peels, crisp and tender without fibrous residue.
Packed with nutrition, they contain abundant fructose, malic acid, protein, fat, various vitamins, as well as minerals such as phosphorus, calcium and iron. Stewing the pears with rock sugar helps dissolve phlegm and soothe the throat, with effects of moisturizing the lungs, quenching thirst and reducing internal heat.
