How to Get to Jinping Mountain in Mile?

Jinping Mountain Scenic Area lies on the picturesque Jinping Mountain, 10 kilometres north of downtown Mile. The city shares its name with Maitreya Buddha, and it is widely praised as an auspicious blessed land, earning the reputation of "Blessed Land of Southern Yunnan".

The mountain is enveloped in lush greenery, creating a tranquil and pleasant atmosphere. Nestled halfway up the mountain among red walls and yellow tiles stands Mile Temple. First built in the Song Dynasty, the temple was reconstructed in the Ming Dynasty, renovated during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, and expanded in 1999. Incense has burned here continuously for hundreds of years, making it the most renowned Buddhist sacred site in southeastern Yunnan.

Jinping Mountain boasts the grandeur of an extensive ancient forest, complemented by the delicate charm of century-old trees and gurgling clear springs. It also showcases the harmonious coexistence and intertwined brilliance of Buddhist, Confucian and ethnic cultures, forming a spectacular tourist destination. Take Bus No.12 from downtown Mile directly to the scenic area, or travel by taxi.

Depart from Honghe City heading east, drive approximately 570 meters along Wenquan Road, then turn left rear onto Hongyan Road. Proceed 210 meters along Hongyan Road, then turn right front onto the roundabout. Drive 40 meters around the roundabout, take the third exit and turn slightly right onto Ranweng Road. Travel 260 meters along Ranweng Road, merge slightly right onto the ramp. Drive 290 meters along the ramp to enter National Highway G326 straight ahead. Continue roughly 6.1 kilometres along G326, then turn right front and drive 1.3 kilometres. Jinping Mountain Scenic Area will be on your left, marking your destination.
