Luzhou is suitable for travel all year round, with spring and autumn being the most pleasant seasons.

The city enjoys a mild climate with few extreme weather conditions, and it is mostly cloudy or overcast throughout the year. The annual average temperature stands at around 18°C. The lowest temperature, occasionally below 0°C, usually occurs in January, while the highest temperature can reach 40°C in the midsummer.

Heavy rainfall, dense fog and prolonged drizzle are the main weather conditions disrupting local traffic. Torrential rains frequently hit Luzhou from June to September, especially in August. Concentrated and widespread downpours may cause river overflows, roadbed collapses and landslides, which block roads and hinder transportation.
