It is a famous Taoist sacred mountain. Facing the Bohai Sea and next to Jinzhou Port, it is situated in Jinzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in western Liaoning Province.

The core scenic spots include Bijia Mountain Island and the Natural Tidal Causeway. The whole area is divided into five zones: island sightseeing, sea cruise, coastal recreation, beach swimming and holiday resorts.

Other scenic spots cluster closely together, including Saddle Bridge, Sky Crack, Divine Turtle Emerging from the Sea, Stone Monkey Crossing the River, Tiger Trap Cave and Dream Orchid Bay. There are also a great number of cultural relics: Lv Zu Pavilion, Sun Palace, Five Mothers Palace, Ten Thousand Buddha Hall, Dragon King Temple and Sanqing Pavilion.

A 1,620-metre gravel road rises above the beach, linking the shore to the island. Locals call it the "Natural Overpass". This flat straight causeway appears and disappears with the ebb and flow of the tide just like a giant dragon. It is a marvelous natural wonder without parallel in the world.

Winters are cold and summers warm; rainfall concentrates in summer, and spring is short and windy. It receives the strongest sunshine, most heat and fiercest winds in Northeast China.
