Lushizhang stands on Biping Mountain to the south of Cang Mountain, thirty-five li north of the county seat. Two peaks stand facing each other, jagged and towering. The sheer rock face rises like a carved screen. Thick foliage blocks the sunlight, and the mountain shimmers like jasper, hence the name Biping (Jade Screen) Mountain.

The Jade Emperor Temple was built halfway up the mountain. Behind the temple lies a deep and secluded cave. Water has accumulated into a bottomless dark pool known as the Thousand-Buddha Pond. Hundreds of cliff statues of varying sizes and shapes were carved on the surrounding rock walls dating back to the Northern Wei Dynasty.

To the west of the temple, a plank road was chiselled along the mountain for hundreds of metres, with several thatched huts serving as monk quarters. According to legend, six Taoist priests cultivated themselves here during the Tang Dynasty and eventually attained immortality. Therefore, the place was named Lushizhang (Ridge of Six Immortals). It is an ancient cultural site with a long history.
