Baishi Mountain
Dominating the northernmost tip of the 800-li Taihang Mountains, Baishi Mountain reaches a maximum altitude of 2,096 meters. It boasts unique landforms, dense vegetation and a rich diversity of flora and fauna. Its scenic highlights include stone peak forests, grotesque rock formations, sheer cliffs, seas of clouds, Buddha’s Light, forests, shrubs, mountain streams, waterfalls, sections of the Great Wall, as well as rare wildlife and plants. "Clear Clouds over White Stone Mountain" tops the list of Laiyuan’s Twelve Ancient Scenic Wonders.
Its most eye-catching attraction is the glass plank road opened to the public in mid-September 2014. Compared with the suspended glass walkways at Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie and Phoenix Mountain in Dandong, it ranks first among all glass plank roads in China. As the longest, widest and highest-altitude glass walkway in the country, it rivals the U-shaped glass trail at the Grand Canyon in the United States and is hailed as China’s "Sky Trail".
The glass plank road stretches roughly 95 meters in length and 2 meters in width, sitting at an altitude of 1,900 meters. Though it looks daunting, it delivers an extraordinary sightseeing experience with reliable safety guarantees.

Route from Beijing to Laiyuan

Self-driving
Route 1: Beijing–Shijiazhuang Expressway → Exit at Gaobeidian in Hebei → Head west along National Highway 112 → Pass Laishui, Yi County, the Western Qing Tombs and Zijingguan before arriving in Laiyuan. Total distance: approximately 240 kilometers.
Route 2: National Highway 107 → Pass Dingxing to Yi County → Take National Highway 112 via the Western Qing Tombs and Zijingguan to Laiyuan. Total distance: approximately 200 kilometers.
