The Sleeping Beauty in Rongdu

Mountains gain vitality with water, and water acquires divinity with mountains. The mountain range in the southwest of Nan'e Hamlet, Rongdu Village looks like a giant lying on its side. Its head and hands can be clearly distinguished. Two peak clusters closely resemble a woman’s breasts, so local people call this natural formation the Sleeping Beauty.

Beneath the Beauty Peaks lies the Nan'e Basin. The twin breast peaks are regarded as a symbol of motherhood, nurturing this land and bringing peace and well-being to people living at the foot of the mountains.

The scenic area boasts abundant primitive ecological and ethnic tourism attractions: the Nine Sisters Waterfalls at Hangda, the Weiran Geyser, the General’s Tomb at Xiaochang, the Yangfan Karst Cave, the Cliff Carvings of Liu Dao, the Longjing Sinkhole in Weipang, and the Singing Stones of Weipang.
