Yunwu Tea Cultural Scenic Area

Yunwu Mountain forms the main ridge of the Miaoling Mountains. It is the native home of Yunwu Tea, a tribute tea popular in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Yunwu Tribute Tea Stele erected during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty is a provincial key cultural relic under protection.

Nestled among rolling hills at the foot of Yunwu Mountain lies Yunwu Lake. The lake boasts a vast surface dotted with islets. Visitors can take leisurely strolls, feed fish and angle, punt boats and enjoy water sports. Dense forests stretch around the lake, alongside ten thousand mu of tea plantations covering mountain slopes. The fertile farmlands near Yunwu Mountain produce high-quality Yunwu rice and rapeseed.

Scattered nearby are the Rhinoceros Head Rock Madonna Church built in the Daoguang reign and Yunwu Catholic Church dating back to the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty. There are also stunning natural landscapes including Jiazi Village, Shuikou Mountain, Lianzhu Mountain and Guxia Mountain.

This place has been officially named the "Hometown of Miao Lusheng Long Drum Dance Art" by Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture. It is famous for bullfighting events well-known across the province and beyond, as well as the renowned Yunwu ponies, which were imperial tribute horses in the Ming and Qing dynasties. All these attractions draw tourists from all over the country for sightseeing and holiday recreation.
