Liangfang Folk Custom Exhibition Hall
With donations from overseas Taiwanese compatriot Wang Jianping, the exhibition hall was founded in 2004 mainly by retired cadres. Housed in the Wang Clan Ancestral Hall, it officially opened on August 8, 2005.
The museum contains six exhibition rooms themed respectively: dining customs, folk handicrafts, farming tools, dwellings and costumes, local culture, and folk traditions.
There are more than 860 exhibits in total, including:
- A carved stone stele dating back 560 years
- A stone water vat from 400 years ago
- An antique carved wooden bed made 200 years ago
- Bronze censers and copper coins of the Qing Dynasty
- Currencies, national bonds and silver coins issued during the Republic of China
- Cloth coupons and grain stamps after the founding of the People’s Republic of China
- Traditional oil presses, waterwheels, hand looms and embroidered shoes
In addition, written materials and picture albums introducing local customs of Lianhua County are on display.
