Golden Horde Tourist Tribe

Founded in 1994, Golden Horde Tourist Tribe is a comprehensive tourist resort modelled after ancient nomadic tribes. It integrates traditional culture, folk customs, religious arts and distinctive cuisines of northern ethnic groups dominated by Mongolians.
As the only tourist attraction in Hulunbuir themed on nomadic tribal landscapes, the Golden Horde Mongolian Tribe sits on the banks of the Morigele River, hailed as “China’s Most Winding Waterway” on the Hulunbuir Grassland. This world-famous natural pasture was once a homeland where numerous ancient northern nomadic peoples grazed livestock and multiplied. From the late 12th century to the early 13th century, Genghis Khan, the great conqueror, stationed and trained his troops here, competing with various tribes and ultimately taking control of the entire Hulunbuir Grassland. The layout of the Golden Horde scenic spot is a miniature recreation of Genghis Khan’s mobile imperial camp from that era.
Numerous film and television crews from France, Japan, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Russia and other regions have come here to shoot movies and dramas, making it an ideal grassland film and television shooting base.
The resort is nearly 40 kilometres from Hulunbuir City, the nearest urban hub, and only 5 kilometres off Provincial Highway S201. It covers a total land area of 1 million square metres.
The service core is a primitive, elegant brick-and-timber Mongolian yurt spanning 282 square metres featuring authentic Mongolian ethnic aesthetics. Surrounding it stand Genghis Khan’s Golden Imperial Tent, Oroqen birch-bark tents, a cluster of Seven-Star Mongolian yurts and a Daur mountain villa. Supporting facilities include a 400-square-metre multi-purpose ethnic cultural pavilion, and a 600-square-metre arena for Bokh wrestling, ethnic song and dance performances, as well as bonfire galas.
The resort can accommodate over 1,000 diners and more than 100 overnight guests simultaneously. It hosts large-scale ethnic sports tournaments, song and dance shows of all sizes, bonfire carnivals and other recreational events.
A full range of experience activities are available: mounted welcoming cavalry, horse lassoing shows, horse training performances, instant photography amid galloping horse herds, Aobao worship ceremonies, Mongolian Bokh wrestling displays, folk custom demonstrations of the three minority groups (Oroqen, Ewenki and Daur), homestay visits with local herdsmen, horseback riding and camel riding for photography and sightseeing, tours by Lelo wooden carts and Mirigan carriages, bonfire carnivals, ethnic musical and dance performances, archery, slingshot shooting and dart throwing.
Integrating six core tourism elements — sightseeing, transportation, accommodation, catering, entertainment and shopping, it has grown into a large grassland attraction showcasing profound ethnic folk customs and culture.
