Heavenly King City Scenic Area
Heavenly King City Scenic Area lies 40 kilometers northwest of Yishui County Seat, at the junction of two cities (Linyi and Zibo) and three counties (Yishui, Yiyuan and Mengyin). The core scenic area sits atop King Ji’s Gu Hill.
Standing at an altitude of 577.2 meters, King Ji’s Gu Hill boasts a broad summit covering around 4 square kilometers and stretching several kilometers from north to south. It is the only hilltop fortress among the Seventy-Two Gu Hills of Yimeng that was once inhabited, earning it the reputation as the head of all Seventy-Two Yimeng Gu Hills.
Wholly funded and constructed by Shandong Hengtai Textile Co., Ltd., the scenic area officially opened to visitors on April 26, 2008. Drawing on historical relics of the ancient State of Ji, it recreates the royal city of Ji dating back over two thousand years. The park consists of four functional zones: the Upper Royal City Ancient Culture Experience Zone, Remote Mountain Ancient Stockade Leisure & Resort Zone, Primitive Ecological Farmland Interactive Zone, and Outdoor Sports & Recreation Zone. Its two signature flagship attractions are the grand equestrian battle performance and the underground ice palace.
Integrating cultural experience, sightseeing, leisure vacation, outdoor sports, business conferences and other services, Heavenly King City is a multi-functional comprehensive tourist resort.
