White Cloud Lake Scenic Area

Comprising the White Cloud Karst Cave Cluster and White Cloud Lake, the scenic area sits southeast of the county seat, ranging 1.5 to 3.5 kilometers from the downtown center.

White Cloud Lake is held back by a 100-meter-high dam. Covering a water surface of 9.5 square kilometers with an average depth of over 80 meters, it boasts a total water storage capacity of 360 million cubic meters. Fed by mountain canyons, the lake features pure, unpolluted water. Five flower-covered islets dot the lake, creating a riot of colorful natural scenery. Countless canyon water lanes stretch for 18 kilometers. The lakeshore is lined with secondary primeval forests, filled with twisted ancient vines and sturdy verdant trees.

Sailing a boat across the lake, visitors are greeted by rippling waves reflecting the scenery, where water and sky merge into one. Fish leap from the water while eagles soar overhead, and fishermen’s songs echo back and forth. Gliding through this winding aquatic gallery brings boundless delight.
