Three Visits Hall

Three Visits Hall was built in the 58th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty as a memorial hall commemorating Liu Bei’s three visits to the thatched cottage and the Longzhong Dialogue between Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang.

Constructed in memory of Liu Bei’s three visits to invite Zhuge Liang, the main structure we see today was reconstructed on the original site in 1719 (the 58th year of the Kangxi reign) by Zhao Hong’en.

A couplet hangs at the entrance, reading: Two petitions repay three visits; one dialogue endures a thousand ages. "The two petitions" refer to Zhuge Liang’s First Chu Shi Biao and Second Chu Shi Biao, while "the one dialogue" stands for the renowned Longzhong Dialogue.
