Dalaidian Site is situated south of Dalaidian Village, Jiuzhou Road Sub-district Office, Qibin District, Hebi City, Henan Province. It is an ancient cultural site dating back from the Neolithic Age to the Shang Dynasty. In May 2013, it was approved and announced by the State Council as one of the Seventh Batch of National Key Cultural Relic Protection Units.
To facilitate the compilation of the conservation plan and the construction of the heritage park for the Dalaidian Site in Hebi, the World Heritage Research Committee of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics, the Henan Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage, and the People’s Government of Hebi City jointly held a symposium on the protection of Dalaidian Site from July 9 to 12, 2014.
Renowned experts and scholars from national and provincial departments of cultural relics, ancient architecture and urban planning, as well as journalists from media including China Cultural Relics News and China Culture Daily, attended the event.
After an on-site investigation, the experts agreed that the site boasts rich cultural connotations, well-preserved remains and outstanding historical value. They suggested that a formal conservation plan should be formulated as soon as possible to clarify protection priorities. Through rigorous demonstration, the historical values and display themes of the site shall be fully explored.
At present, the Dalaidian Site is undergoing planning, development and heritage protection.
