The Rong River Scenic Area lies in the heart of Rong’an County, stretching along the Rong River from Chang’an Town (the county seat) to Luchizhou Islet. It is an all-round tourist attraction integrating ancient town sightseeing, island ecological leisure, merchant culture experience and idyllic rural folk customs.

Dense green bamboo groves line both banks of the Rong River. The river water is clear and tranquil like a mirror, winning high praise from experts for its unique features of "gentle current, straight waterway, wide river surface, slow flow, clean water and serene atmosphere".

In particular, after the Fushi Hydropower Station 12 kilometers downstream from the county seat closed its sluices in March 2000, a vast, calm lake spanning 25 kilometers took shape between the upper reaches of the hydropower station and the Siwei River. This exceptional stretch of water, unparalleled in Liuzhou Prefecture, is perfect for all kinds of water activities. A grand dragon boat race with hundreds of competing boats is held here every November.
