Mandarin Duck Waterfall

Hongchagou Forest Tourist Area is 3 kilometers away from Rong’an County Seat. It is an all-in-one scenic spot that combines mountain and river sightseeing, forest tours, eco-leisure, wellness preservation, religious culture experience and tourism real estate development.

Covering a total area of 17 square kilometers, the zone boasts 22,000 mu of secondary primeval forests and artificial plantations. Inside the park, flowers bloom all over the hills in spring; sea of clouds blankets half the mountains in summer; red leaves carpet the slopes in autumn; and snow covers the mountain tops in winter. The sunrise and sea of cloud vistas are breathtakingly magnificent.

It features towering winding mountains, lush fragrant woods, elegant water scenery, perilous waterfalls, gorgeous clouds, stunning snowscapes and exceptionally fresh air.

The well-known Midong Waterfall within the resort draws its water from the pristine forests of Hongchagou. Streams converge to form a waterfall over 5 meters wide with a vertical drop of more than 50 meters, presenting a spectacular view. In summer, rising water levels speed up the current and widen the waterfall for unique scenery.
