The Primeval Shaman Tribe Scenic Area of Changbai Mountain is an international AAAA-level tourist attraction, located 5 kilometers from the north gate of Changbai Mountain, a world-famous renowned mountain. Covering more than 200 hectares, the scenic area adjoins the Daxitaihe National Forest Park.

It preserves the most representative natural ecosystem in the northern half of the Eurasian continent and boasts the most stunning primeval forests of Changbai Mountain. Towering ancient trees stand in countless varied shapes; rare birds and exotic wild animals dwell amid clear springs shimmering under the moon. Legend has it that Nurhaci, the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty, took refuge and dug wild ginseng here in his youth. Divine Altar Mountain, the optimal pilgrimage site offering a full panoramic view of Changbai Mountain, stands within the zone and ranks among China’s Four Great Sacred Altars.

The scenic area is home to Northern China’s tallest and thickest King Korean Pine, King Yew and King Amberwood. It houses China’s most extensive Shamanic Culture Museum, serving as the birthplace of the world-famous living heritage of Shamanism. As an iconic symbol representing Changbai Mountain Shamanic culture in China, it is also a uniquely charming northern cultural theme park themed on "Ten Deities and Hundred Spirits", elaborately built by the China Shaman Culture Art Committee. For these reasons, it has become the coveted "Dream of Forest" sought after by tourists at home and abroad.
