Lianhuapao Red-crowned Crane and Wild Goose Scenic Area

Lianhuapao is located 5 kilometres north of Da’an City and 1.5 kilometres from the right bank of the Nenjiang River. Covering a total area of 4 square kilometres, it is surrounded by high slopes, with a clear lake shaped like a lotus flower.

According to historical records, the lake abounded in lotus fish, one of the renowned "Three Premium River Fish and One Island Fish", hence the name Lianhuapao (Lotus Pond). It is also nicknamed Swan Lake. Every spring and autumn, whooper swans and other migratory birds gather here to rest.

When autumn arrives, hundreds of swans and wild geese assemble on the water. They linger in flocks, wait for migrating companions and build up energy, staying for days on end. The lake is covered with fluttering white birds flying and playing together, forming a spectacular scene. This place is truly a paradise for rare birds and an excellent tourist destination.
