Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs
This monument stands on Fengguan Hill north of Fengcheng Town. It was erected in May 1958.
Built of stone with a square plan, it consists of a pedestal, a stele body and a top roof. The pedestal features a waisted midsection, and the top is designed with four sloping eaves.
The total height reaches 7 metres, with stone balustrades surrounding the base. Facing south from the north, the front face bears seven regular-script carved characters: Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs.
Inscribed on either side are dedications by Zhu De and Deng Zihui:
Eternal glory to the revolutionary martyrs!
Their noble names and lofty spirit will endure forever!
The inscription on the back records the heroic deeds of 12 revolutionary martyrs, including Li Shi (Secretary of the Central County Party Committee of the CPC Anxi County), Chen Fengwu (Political Commissar of the 2nd Detachment of the Southern Fujian Red Army Guerrillas), Li Shiquan (Detachment Commander), and Fu Youzhi (Chairman of the Soviet Government of Guanpeng District).
On October 21, 1985, the People’s Government of Anxi County designated it as one of the first batch of County-level Key Protected Cultural Relics.
Monument to Revolutionary Martyrs of the Anxi-Nan’an-Tongan Border Region
Located on the top of Shihua Hill at the western end of Longmen Market in Longmen Township, the monument was built in 1990.
Constructed of stone on a square base, it has a two-tiered pedestal and a four-sloped eave roof. It stands more than 3 metres high, enclosed by stone railings. The monument faces northwest from the southeast.
Eight carved characters on the front read: Eternal glory to the revolutionary martyrs.
The pedestal bears the engraved names of 28 martyrs from the Agrarian Revolutionary War and the New Democratic Revolution, such as Lin Shichai (Secretary of the Special Party Branch of CPC Anxi-Nan’an-Tongan Border Region), Wang Anju (Secretary of the Communist Youth League), and Lin Wenfu (Chairman of the Peasants’ Association).
Monument to Martyr Guo Jie
The monument sits atop Fozige Hill in Xishan Village, Kuidou Township, and was completed in 1993.
Guo Jie (1906–1932), originally named Guo Yunnong, was one of the founders of the CPC Party organization in the Anxi-Nan’an-Yongchun border area.
He was arrested and sacrificed heroically in April 1932, the 21st year of the Republic of China.
