Iremut Lake, hailed as the Azure River Bend, sits 7 kilometres southwest of Keketuohai Town in Fuyun County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region富蕴县人民.... Formed by damming the confluence of the Irtysh River and its tributary Kayirt River, it is a reservoir-type fault lake developed within the depression of the Karaxiang'ge Earthquake Fault Zone. Natural Scenery
The lake water is crystal clear and rich sapphire blue, spreading smoothly like a gorgeous, spotless silk satin. Floating white clouds cast reflections on the calm water surface, resembling white lotus flowers embroidered on the blue fabric of the lake富蕴县人民.... Towering steep mountains stand on the eastern and western banks of the northern lake section. When gazing afar, vast misty water merges with distant wooded hills and scattered villages, whose mirrored images double the poetic beauty on the water.
Alternating lakeside meadows, headlands and winding coves, plus scattered rocky islets and sandbars inside the lake, build a layered waterscape ideal for leisure boating. The southern lakeshore unfolds into an expansive alpine steppe: lush green grass stretches endlessly, dotted with golden wild rapeseed flowers, yurts and flocks of cattle and sheep, showcasing the typical idyllic pastoral scenery of the Altay grasslands. Viewed from a high vantage point, the whole lake glimmers like a giant aquamarine embedded amid rugged mountain ranges.
