The Xinhe Urban Desert and Flower Sea Tourist Project is located in Jolpanbagh Village, Tashairik Township, 5 kilometres from downtown Xinhe County. It covers a total area of approximately 3,056 mu, including 444 mu of reclaimed cultivated land. The project site stretches a maximum of 3 kilometres from north to south and 1.5 kilometres from east to west. Relying on unique desert resources and highly convenient transportation, the project builds an urban desert leisure tourism complex with sightseeing, desert experience, water recreation and other activities.
The desert experience zone contains 20 functional items suitable for visitors of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy themselves to the full. The flower sea grows more than 30 varieties of colourful flowers and seasonal fruits for tourists to admire. A rare animal zoo will also be built to popularize science among children. A small sightseeing train will take you around the whole scenic area for a fantastic visual feast.

Master Plan and Functional Zones
The total planned investment of the tourist project is 25 million RMB. The whole project falls into three major sections: the tourist reception centre, desert experience area and flower appreciation zone.
The reception centre occupies 180 mu, with a construction area of 3,800 square metres and a 10,000-square-metre parking lot offering 400 parking spaces. Equipped with complete service facilities, it can receive 100,000 tourists every year.
Following the "11112334" layout, the desert experience area includes 20 key projects:
- The first group: one desert cartoon art corridor, one food plaza, one ski resort and one desert volleyball court;
- The second group: two lakes, two ice-skating rinks and two sand therapy yards;
- The third group: three camps (for gliders, desert motorcycles and off-road vehicles, and camel caravans) plus three sand sliding grounds;
- The fourth group: four prime viewing spots.
The flower landscape consists of a 100-mu fruit orchard, a 300-mu flower garden and a sightseeing railway for the flower train.
