Carved on the cliff beside the bridge is the inscription
Sky Gap written by Zhao Hanwen, the first county magistrate of Yongren in the 14th year of the Republic of China. There are also two other epigraphs from later magistrates: Li Jiace (from Yunlong, Dali) inscribed
Revealing My Pure Mind, and Zhang Weiqing (from Huaning, Yuxi) wrote
Here One Can Perceive the Truth.
These bold, elegant and neatly structured characters remain clearly visible to this day.
