The Altun Mosque was a royal mosque for the imperial family during the Yarkand Khanate. It was constructed in 1533 by Abdurashid Khan, the second ruler of the Yarkand Khanate. It was renovated by Khoja Dania in 1735, and the government carried out restoration work in 1988 while preserving its original appearance. Nowadays, it serves as an open religious venue for local residents.
