The Memorial Mausoleum of Amannisa Khan was built in 1992 in memory of Amannisa Khan, the chief compiler of the Twelve Muqams. It was officially opened to tourists on August 6, 1992, during the Second Regional Symposium on the Twelve Muqams held in Shache.
Amannisa Khan was an outstanding musician and poet of the Yarkand Khanate, and the consort of Abdurashid Khan, the second khan of the Yarkand Khanate. Her greatest lifelong achievement was collecting and collating Muqam music.
Constructed in the style of folk architectural art, the mausoleum has three stories from the underground tomb to the domed top, presenting a magnificent sight.
On November 25, 2005, Muqam was inscribed on the Third Proclamation of the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity
