Shenquan Ecological Tourism Scenic Area

Shenquan Ecological Tourism Scenic Area lies on the bank of the Yellow River, 11 kilometres southeast of Tuoketuo County Town, Hohhot. It is situated in the heart of the "Golden Triangle" formed by Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos. The entire scenic area integrates classical gardens, the Yellow River, desert landscapes and the profound history of Tuoketuo County.

It showcases the bold, vast landforms typical of northern China while embodying the understated elegance, winding secluded waterways and unrestrained layout style characteristic of regions south of the Yangtze River. Natural and cultural landscapes blend perfectly here. The resort gets its name from a perennial spring within the site, which continuously gushes clear, sweet spring water all year round.

With a total investment of 150 million yuan, construction of Shenquan Ecological Tourism Scenic Area broke ground on April 28, 2007, and it officially opened to the public on August 28, 2010. In September of the same year, it was certified as a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction, marking an extremely rapid development pace.

The scenic area spans both banks of the Yellow River: The left bank features a classical garden zone covering 420,000 square metres, including the 180,000-square-metre Emerald Lake. Core sightseeing spots here consist of the Divine Spring, tea house, Guanyin Temple, Emerald Lake and rare bird breeding pavilion. The right bank offers immersive Kubuqi Desert experiences, with signature activities including desert surfing, camel riding, desert mini train rides, desert off-road vehicles and populus euphratica forests.
