Overview of Tourism Resources in Tuoketuo County
Tuoketuo County sits on the Tumochuan Plain on the north bank of the dividing line between the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River, at the southern foot of the Daqing Mountains. Administratively, it falls under Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The county seat is 70 kilometres south of Hohhot, 130 kilometres east of Baotou, the "Steel City on the Grassland", and 40 kilometres north of Jungar Coalfield, a major national energy base. It lies at the heart of the "Golden Triangle" linking Hohhot, Baotou and Jungar.
The Yellow River winds 37.5 kilometres through the county. Boasting a long history dotted with abundant cultural relics and thriving modern industry, Tuoketuo brings together ancient city ruins, the Yellow River and desert landscapes, endowing it with exceptionally rich tourism resources.
