Xiyang Yangshao Cultural Site lies approximately 1,000 meters west of Xiyang Village, Zhengding Town, Zhengding County. The site is 30 meters wide from east to west and 50 meters long from north to south. At its center stands an earthen mound with a diameter of around 30 meters and a height of 6 meters. The mound adjoins a road on the south, while farmland surrounds the other three sides. The cultural layer is about 1.5 meters thick. Scorched earth, red pottery shards and grey pottery shards can be seen on the fault sections, though no intact artifacts have been unearthed. After appraisal, the relics are confirmed to date back from the Neolithic Yangshao Culture to the Shang Dynasty.
Xinglong Temple once stood atop the mound, and now only a stone stele inscribed with Record of the Reconstruction of Xinglong Temple, erected in the 44th year of the Kangxi reign (1705), remains. Local villagers have built nine tile-roofed houses facing south on the mound, housing clay Buddha statues inside. Enclosing walls and a gate have also been constructed.
The site was listed as a Major Historical and Cultural Site of Hebei Province in 1956, and re-designated as such by the People's Government of Hebei Province in 1982.
