White Crane Lake – A Distinctive Water Conservancy Scenic Area
Lying 19 kilometers away from downtown Yingtan, White Crane Lake Scenic Area covers 48.41 square kilometers, including a 10-square-kilometer water area. Boasting serene surroundings and fresh air, it features three core landscapes: reservoirs, fruit forests and mountain ridges. It was awarded the title of National Water Conservancy Scenic Area by the Ministry of Water Resources in 2004.
Surrounded by rolling mountains, the lake presents stunning waterscape views. Five islets of varied shapes scatter across the reservoir, growing wild Chinese yew, camphor, podocarpus, ginkgo and other rare plants. Thousands of white cranes, wild geese and wild ducks inhabit here. Visitors can immerse themselves in the fairy-like scenery of rippling lake water and fragrant pear orchards, escaping the hustle and bustle of cities and relaxing in the embrace of nature.
