Meng Mountain is situated at the junction of Shanggao, Xinyu and Fenyi counties, and is also adjacent to Gao'an and Qingjiang counties. Stretching over a hundred li around, its highest peak — Baiyun Peak — rises more than 1,000 meters, ranking as a major mountain in central Jiangxi.
It is named "Meng Mountain" (literally Misty Mountain) for a reason. According to Geographical Records, the mountain is towering and densely wooded with numerous waterfalls and flowing springs. Thick mist and clouds often linger among steep cliffs and deep valleys, veiling the landscape like a maiden’s gauze veil and creating a hazy, ethereal view.
The mountain range extends for a hundred li with lofty peaks piercing the sky. Rolling hills are covered with layered green woods, resembling rippling blue waves. Deep forests, lingering clouds, grotesque rocks, exquisite caves and gurgling springs can be found everywhere. The summit boasts the most breathtaking scenery.
