Located in the county seat, formerly known as South Mountain. Flanked by Cuiping Peak (left) and Fengpo Ridge (right), backed by Qingfeng Mountain, and facing the Huaihe River, it stands out among surrounding hills. When Mi Fu, a Northern Song calligrapher, traveled from Bianjing (modern Kaifeng) to take office as magistrate of Lian Shui, he was inspired by the mountain’s beauty and wrote Ode to First Mountain: "Dust of the capital fades a thousand li away; my boat exits the Bian River amid green screens. Forget the peaks that touch the stars—this is the First Mountain of the Southeast." He also inscribed "First Mountain" in bold characters, renaming the mountain. The cliff carvings feature 139 inscriptions by Su Shi and other scholars, covering all calligraphy styles. Rated National AAAA-Level Scenic Area in 2010 and promoted to National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit in 2013.
