Located at 96 Ziyin Road, old Zunyi town, this was formerly the private residence of Bai Huizhang, commander of the 2nd Division of the 25th Kuomintang Army. Built in the early 1930s, this two-story brick-and-wood mansion blends Chinese and Western styles. Once the most magnificent building in Zunyi, it features high walls and grand gates. In early January 1935, after the Red Army arrived in Zunyi during the Long March, it served as the Red Army’s general headquarters. The famous Zunyi Conference (an enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee) was held in the former living room of the main building from January 15 to 17.
