Yangtiangang Forest Park covers a total area of 6.7 square kilometers. Originally named Yanggang or Yangshan, it was renamed Yangtiangang in memory of Huang Xizhang, a Taoist boy from ancient Xinyu in the Northern Song Dynasty. Legend has it that he once repelled the invading Jin army with divine power, and was later conferred the title of "Immortal Huang of Stone Mound, Founder of Yangtiangang, Guardian of the Nation and Bestower of Blessings" by Emperor Qinzong of the Song Dynasty.
The park features rolling mountains, dense forests, graceful bamboo groves and serene valleys dotted with grotesque rocks. It is home to marvelous natural landscapes such as Cockscomb Ridge, Salivating Lion, Single Gate and Hat-Shaped Rock.
