Take National Highway 101 and pass through Gubeikou. Head north from western Chengde, travel via Longhua to Weichang County in Hebei Province. Continue through Qipanshan, Sanxiang and the Mechanized Forest Farm, and you will finally reach the Army Horse Ranch.

Take Train No. 193 from Beijing South to Hailar. It departs from Yongdingmen Railway Station at 08:13 and arrives at Siheyong at 14:29. The hard-seat ticket costs 28 yuan.

Upon arrival, transfer to a minibus (3 yuan per person, around 30 minutes) to Weichang Long-distance Bus Station. Then take the long-distance bus bound directly for the Army Horse Ranch, which departs at 10:30 (one trip daily, 15 yuan per person). The whole journey takes about 5 hours.

Alternatively, you may take a medium bus directly to the Mechanized Forest Farm. Buses run every hour at a fare of 10 yuan, and the ride lasts approximately 3 hours.
