The Bell Tower is 47.9 meters in height, with double eaves covered with black glazed tiles, and is a large single ancient building of all brick and stone structure. The Chinese white jade railings and exquisite bricks outside the building are antique and charming. The whole building emphasizes the functions of resonance, sound amplification and sound transmission. A number of open semi-circular vaulted doors serve as sound channels that can transmit the sound of the bell to the greatest extent.
After years, the second floor of the bell tower has finally opened to the public. The Yongle Bell in the center of the exhibition hall is 7.02 meters high, 3.4 meters in diameter and weighs 63 tons. The sound of the bell is so strong that it can be heard for miles around, making it the "King of Ancient Bells" in China.
