The history of archery in China is more than 28,000 years old. According to surviving documents, the earliest formal archery competition dates back to the period of Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty. The three-pronged arrowhead on display has a sharp front and is followed by a cone-shaped collar. The arrowhead is engraved with the inscription "You Ku", which is the name of a battlefield in the State of Han during the Warring States period that specialized in the manufacture and storage of weapons.
