How to Get to Sanqing Mountain

By Air: Flight Inquiry & Ticket Booking for Quzhou, Nanchang and Jiujiang

There is no airport in Shangrao, but many airports are available nearby. You can fly to neighbouring cities including Quzhou, Nanchang and Jiujiang first, then drive along expressways to Sanqing Mountain.
Sanqing Mountain enjoys convenient highway connections:
  • East-west routes: National Highway 320 and the Liwen Expressway (Shanghai–Ruili Expressway G311), linking Shanghai, Hangzhou with Guangzhou, Changsha, Wuhan, Fuzhou and Wuyi Mountain.
  • North-south route: Jingdezhen–Wuyuan–Changshan Expressway connecting Jingdezhen, Wuhan, Hefei, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Nanchang.
A T-shaped highway network has taken initial shape.

By Train: Train Ticket Booking for Shangrao and Yushan

Travellers to Sanqing Mountain may take a train to Shangrao or Yushan in Jiangxi Province first, then transfer to a coach heading for the mountain.
  • Zhejiang–Jiangxi Railway runs directly to Shangrao City and Yushan County.
  • Shangrao–Nanchang Railway also reaches the two destinations directly.
  • If taking the Beijing–Guangzhou Railway, transfer trains in Nanchang.
  • If taking the Anhui–Jiangxi Railway, make transfers in Guixi, Yingtan or Jingdezhen (passing Wuyuan County).

Route 1: Arrive at Yushan Railway Station

After getting off the train, you can take a pedicab straight to Yushan Long-distance Bus Station.
Coaches depart every 30 minutes in peak tourist seasons and every hour in the off season. The ride from Yushan to Sanqing Mountain takes more than one hour.

Route 2: Arrive at Shangrao Railway Station

In the off season, you need to take a long-distance bus from Shangrao Stadium to Yushan first, then continue to Sanqing Mountain.
In peak seasons, direct long-distance buses run from Shangrao Stadium all the way to Sanqing Mountain. The journey from Shangrao to Yushan takes 45 minutes.

By Coach

Yushan ↔ Sanqing Mountain

Regular shuttle buses run frequently between Yushan and Sanqing Mountain.
Minibuses wait outside Yushan Railway Station from about 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fare is 15 yuan (you may bargain it down to 10 yuan). The whole trip covers 47 kilometres on asphalt and cement roads with good driving conditions.
Buses also depart from Yushan Bus Station roughly every hour. However, these services are less punctual: they will not set off until the bus is full, stop to pick up passengers along the way, and often wait for 10 minutes at road junctions.

Local Transport in Yushan

Pedicabs are the most common means of transport in downtown Yushan. Short trips such as from the railway station to the bus station only cost 1 yuan.
Please prepare small change to avoid drivers refusing to give change on the excuse of having no loose money!
It is recommended to take the minibus directly at the railway station. Sleeper coaches heading for Hangzhou in the afternoon are also available in front of the station.
