Dried Seafood
Bordering the East China Sea of Fujian (Taiwan Strait) on the east, Fuding is endowed with abundant marine resources. A wide variety of fresh seafood is produced here, including eels, sea crabs, prawns, squids, cuttlefish, yellow croakers and more.
Fuding Siyu Pomelo
Fuding Siyu pomelo has been cultivated locally for more than 200 years. It belongs to the citrus family Rutaceae and gets its name because it blossoms and bears fruit all year round.
Symbolizing reunion, good fortune, full blossoms and bright moons as well as longevity, this pomelo is cherished as an auspicious token for happy life, and is widely popular among consumers. Its outstanding quality has won high praise from state leaders and well-known nutrition experts across China.
Fuding Areca Taro
The main tuber of Fuding areca taro is cylindrical, measuring 30–40 cm long and 12–15 cm in diameter, weighing 1.25–3 kilograms, with the largest specimen reaching 6 kilograms.
The fresh taro has a brownish yellow peel, while the flesh is milky white marked with purplish red streaks like areca nuts. It features fine, loose, crisp texture and strong fragrance, with starch content exceeding 25%.
Basalt (Black Fuding Stone)
The basalt deposit at Dazhang Mountain in Bailin Town of Fuding holds a reserve of 50 million cubic meters, which can be continuously quarried for more than 1,000 years.
The black rock is exposed directly on the ground with an elegant deep tone. It is a rare high-grade decorative stone slab nationwide, making Fuding one of the country’s major stone material bases.
Owing to its high hardness, compact texture and jet-black color, it was officially named Black Fuding by the State Building Materials Administration under the State Council.
Fuding White Tea
White tea is a lightly fermented tea. It is covered all over with fine silvery white hairs, looking elegant like silver and snow, hence its name. The liquor is apricot yellow, clear and bright, tasting fresh, mellow and aromatic.
Fuding white tea adopts natural and unique craftsmanship: no pan-frying or rolling, only slow drying over mild fire. This process retains the maximum nutrients inside tea leaves and creates distinctive health benefits. It ranks among the most primitive, natural and wholesome premium teas in the world.
