Introduction to Hanzhong

Known as the Little Jiangnan in Northwest China, Hanzhong lies at the geographical heart of China. Rebuilt and relocated twice during the Qin, Han, Tang and Song dynasties, it has always been a land of outstanding talents. Every brick and stone here bears witness to the vicissitudes of history, and every detail reflects the confidence of the Chinese nation. As such an important historical and cultural city, Hanzhong is unavoidable when studying Chinese history and absolutely unmissable for tourists.

Millions of mu of rapeseed flowers bloom across Hanzhong in spring. Around May Day, tourists can also attend the Xixiang Cherry Festival in local cherry orchards. Summer is ideal for mountain excursions, river tours and summer getaways. However, rain is frequent in summer, so umbrellas or raincoats are recommended. Winters here are cold, while autumns are usually rainy. Neither season is perfect for travelling.
