The beautiful Hongsi Lake is like a huge natural bonsai inlaid among the green mountains and clear waters in the southwest of Nanzheng County. Covering an area of about 35 square kilometres with a forest coverage rate of 88.2 percent, it lies 25 kilometres away from Hanzhong, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It ranks among the most attractive eco-tourist scenic areas in Hanzhong.

Hongsi Lake Scenic Area boasts charming scenery all year round. It consists of more than 30 scenic spots including Peach Blossom Island, Nan Bamboo Ecological Park, Lonely Mountain Villa, Swan Lake, Fishing Island, natural bathing beach, folk custom village, Hongsi Temple and Qi'er Stockade. The vast expanse of water, dense forests, protruding islets and magnificent Hongsi Mountain together form an ink-wash landscape scroll made up of multiple scenes. The whole picture is permeated with serene and elegant charm, creating a wonderful and unique artistic conception.
