Introduction to Attractions around Nansha Lake
Overall, centred on the ecological wetland of Nansha Lake and rooted in local historical culture and water-town folk customs of southern Shaanxi, the scenic area integrates wild mountain scenery, graceful lake waters, profound historical relics and simple modern pastoral landscapes. It embodies the scenic features of Nansha Lake: seclusion, wilderness, beauty and antiquity. The goal is to build a top-grade eco-tourist zone dominated by natural scenery and turn it into a premier destination for ecological leisure and holiday travel.
Specifically, the layout follows the framework of two mountains, one lake, one corridor, one belt and five scenic zones.
Two Mountains
The eastern and western mountains within the scenic area boast lush vegetation. They form the ecological foundation of the whole zone while featuring unique landscapes respectively.
One Lake
Water constitutes a core element of Nansha Lake Scenic Area. The lake serves not only as the key ecological protection zone but also as the most distinctive and appealing sightseeing spot.
Surrounded by thickly wooded green hills and set against vast farmlands and layered rice fields, it stands as a perfect combination of man-made and natural scenery.
Adhering to the principle of protective development, the management will gradually adopt environmentally friendly water recreation facilities and restrict fuel-powered equipment.
One Corridor
Building layouts will be rationally regulated along the main sightseeing routes to create a green passage linking mountains and waters.
One Belt
The lake cruise route will make full use of diverse tourist resources. Scenic spots with distinctive features will be arranged to form an on-water sightseeing belt on Nansha Lake.
Five Scenic Zones
Based on the varied landscapes in different sections, Nansha Lake Scenic Area is divided from north to south into the Entrance Zone, Religious Culture Zone, Islet Zone, Golden Beach Zone and Mingzhu Lake Zone.
Entrance Zone
Located at the northernmost tip, it acts as the gateway and central service hub of the scenic area. Covering 0.8 square kilometres, it includes a high-grade entrance section, administrative quarter, tourist reception area and commercial service zone.
Religious Culture Zone
It contains attractions such as Wulang Pass, Goddess of the Earth Temple, Huilong Temple and Morality Square. Together with planned religious sites, it forms an area with strong cultural ambience.
Islet Zone
It showcases the core charm of the scenic area — natural landscapes of lakes and mountains. Various scenic spots and service facilities are arranged here, covering about 4.9 square kilometres.
Golden Beach Zone
Adjacent to the Islet Zone in the north, it is built for leisure holidays, conference exhibitions and sightseeing entertainment.
Mingzhu Lake Zone
Situated at the southern end, this zone has the widest water surface. The flat southern bank is dotted with residential settlements, presenting a typical pastoral view reminiscent of regions south of the Yangtze River.
