Kanbula boasts 18 towering peaks arranged in a row from west to east, namely Nanchong Peak, Gongbao Peak, Dejie Peak, Neibaozong Peak, Wild Goose Peak, Nunnery Peak, Goat Peak, Wild Yak Peak and more. Most of the mountain names carry strong religious connotations. Viewed from different distances, heights and angles, the peaks present diverse and vivid shapes. Some stand tall like giant pillars piercing the clouds, while others look like graceful young maidens.

Danxia is a specialized geomorphology term. It was named after Danxia Mountain in Renhua County, Guangdong Province, discovered in the early 20th century. The exotic rock formations here are composed of Tertiary reddish glutenite. After countless geological changes, crustal subsidence and uplift of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, as well as tens of thousands of years of wind, frost, water erosion and cutting by the Yellow River, these peaks have formed their unique charming landscapes today.
