Mengda Heavenly Lake lies in the eastern part of Xunhua Salar Autonomous County, Haidong. Covering an area of about 300 mu, the lake boasts crystal-clear emerald water that blends seamlessly with the blue sky.

Established in 1980, Mengda Nature Reserve is known as "Xishuangbanna on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau". It is a popular resort in Qinghai for summer retreats, health recuperation and sightseeing. On-site guest houses are available with decent accommodation. A double room costs 25 yuan per bed, and there is a restaurant for meals.

Transportation: Take a long-distance coach to Xunhua County at Xining Long-Distance Bus Station. The journey is 140 kilometers with a fare of around 30 yuan.
